最近夢中になっている植物の蒸留。
凝縮された香り、嗅覚に訴えるものを採取したいと思っています。エッセンシャルオイルはまさに「エッセンス」です。
蒸留する素材は産地、地点登録、気候などを記録して、その物の個性を見出そうとしています。例えば同じヒバでも自生地が異なると、香りもオイルの質、量も変わります。
蒸留の技術は、植物/樹木/果物の様々な部位を試すことによって、回数を重ねながら上達します。
工程にもヒーリング効果があり、続けたくなる作業です。
About Distillation
I’ve been into distillation lately, as I want to collect condensed scents that are evocative to sense of smells. Essential oil is literally “essence”.
I’m trying to discover the personalities of materials by recording their grown area, climate, etc. Hiba for instance, their smell and amount/quality of the oil vary depending on the area that were raised.
Technique of distillation can be improved by trying different parts of plants numerous times.
It is a healing process and makes me want to do again and again.
